I am the Truth
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.". Joh 14:6
We often see people with names that denote or reflect the word "truth". It's not uncommon to notice that inspite of having such names, their utterances are mostly lies. Our Lord is not like that. Our Lord's name is truth, his life is truth, his words are true and they are everlasting. While he lived on this Earth as flesh, he lived as one who is full of grace and truth. There is no deception in him and his words are true and trustworthy fulfilling the promises to all that put their trust in him.
Before I knew the Lord, my eldest daughter passed away. I could not bear the separation of my daughter whom I loved so dearly and I was devastated. I thought it is useless living without my daughter. For seven years I spent time alone in the early morning hours meditating the word of God. I had a vision and God spoke to me through his word. " A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time. " Isa 60:22
I trusted the word of God and saw it becoming true in my life. Words uttered by God are never futile. He is truth himself.
When you pray for your family or for your congregation or for yourself, if you trust the word of God and take it as the promise, it will be fulfilled because all his words are true.
"Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all." Pilate asked. John 18: 38
Before the crucifixion, Pilate questioned about the truth. He asked a good question but did not have the patience to hear the answer and became busy in his own work before he could hear the answer from Jesus.
The belt of Truth
I live by clinging to his word. My desire is that you should follow the same. In Ephesians 6th chapter, Saint Paul describes the complete Armour of God and says that the belt of truth should be buckled around the waist. What is this belt of truth?
A man was traveling in a bullock cart. Suddenly one of the wheels gets stuck in a pothole. The cart stops moving forward, so he gets down from the cart, ties a band of cloth tightly around his waist and begins to push the cart forward.
The man in the bullock cart needs to strengthen his back while he pushes the heavy cart so he fastens his back securely. Likewise, when we wish to attempt mighty and honourable works for God, we should fasten ourselves with the belt of truth. The belt of truth becomes our strength to do mighty exploits for God.
Usually, we can easily make out when someone is lying. They never look straight in your eye; their look is always cast down. But when you are true, you have no fear. The truth will give you great strength and confidence.
There is no hide and seek for the righteous. The ways of the righteous are royal and full of courage for they have truth on their side.
"But the righteous are as bold as a lion" Prov 28:1
The deceitful are always fearful of harm coming their way. They always fear that someone might harm them and live in uncertainty. The children of the light utter only the truth and live for the truth. If the truth dwells in you, then you will become his child on whom his favour lies.
"Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven." Ps 85: 10-11
Truth, righteousness and love attract each other. Righteousness and peace give great happiness. Our Lord's name is full of grace and truth. If you have truth in you then righteousness will also exist in you. When truth and righteousness dwell in you, God's grace will be on you.
Some people come to me and say that God's grace is not upon them. If you fasten yourself with the belt of truth, then blessing will surround you. In Psalm 23, the servant of God, David, says – "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever." Ps 23: 6
Regardless of how intelligent you are or how famous you are, death is certain. As life is passing, one should be firmly rooted in the way of the Lord. We should live as God's children by listening to his word and walking in the way of truth.

Great idea for a blog, Neil! I’m really excited about… WAIT A SECOND! Weekday’s only? What in the crap! I’d already market March 17, 2011 on my calendar, and was all excited to check back then to see what #1 is, but now I find out I’ll have to wait until April 20, 2012? What about holidays, Neil? Are you going to take those off too? Factoring in New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labo(u)r Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Boxing Day, I’m going to have to wait until May 31, 2012 to find out what #1 is. Plus, that’s going to be 2 days after my 32nd birthday, so I’m sure I’ll be wallowing in self-pity about getting old, and probably won’t even check back in. That’s it I’m stopping here. Finding lost money is the last awesome thing I’ll ever read about. Good bye, Neil, and good luck. NOT AWESOME!
